Colorado Springs Colorado is located just over an hour south of Denver. Although it is only a medium-sized city, Colorado Springs has an enormous amount to offer, and was ranked the number one ‘Best Big City” in the nation by Money Magazine in 2006. Colorado Springs is home to three military bases, three colleges (Colorado College, The Air Force Academy, and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs), the Olympic Training Center, the Broadmoor Hotel and NORAD. Colorado Springs also offers endless activities, both indoor and out, at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Cave of the Winds, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. If you prefer to explore the amazing Colorado wilderness, you will find numerous state and national parks, as well as national monuments only a short drive away. Additionally, numerous ski resorts are only a two hour drive from Colorado Springs. Basically—any outdoor adventure that you can imagine is obtainable in Colorado Springs!
